About the ADP
The Athletic Development Program prepares our players from age 14 to the completion of their Grenadier and high school football careers for football at the University level, or for any other competitive sport our athletes should choose.
The true benefit of this program is that it is not sport specific. It is about developing athletic potential. Coaches add specific skills whether it is football, rugby, baseball, hockey or any other sport.
The Grenadiers are committed to partnership with Mr. Tom Worthy, in consultation with Grenadier Coach Bob Mullen, in putting this program together. The content is consistent with the popular P90-X Fitness Program and to the testing requirements and training drills on the Nike SPARQ Training website.
Our advice to youth athletes is to adequately prepare themselves prior to introducing weights to their training regiment. When weights are introduced, it is in keeping with the body’s natural stress response to ‘muscle confusion’ stimulating desired conditioning improvements.
In a nutshell, developing athleticism is more than simple strength gain and muscle mass. What a body builder strives to attain and what an athlete strives to attain are not necessarily the same. The most advanced knowledge applies a weight training regiment to a full range of motion that simulates the body’s physiology requirements to in play a sport at high level. Sport specific athletic development is not proving to be a requirement to success in the early stages of athletic development.
HOW TO USE THIS WEB PORTAL

Testing
Grenadier Players are put through a series of tests recommended by SPARQ to assess athleticism. Each player is assigned their own number, which will be theirs throughout their years of development. The testing will take place in January of each calendar year and again before selection camp held in April.
